Bacon Burger Dogs
The kids love hot dogs, the adults love burgers and everyone loves bacon, so these Bacon Burger Dogs are the perfect party food. Our kids play in the praise band at our church and work up a good appetite on rehearsal nights. We grilled up some Bacon Burger Dogs for the band one night and they were a huge hit! You can slice them in smaller portions and serve on slider buns with your favorite condiments. You can also deep-fry these for 5 minutes (with oil temp set to 325°F). Whether you grill them, fry them or serve them up on slider rolls, your guests will keep coming back for more!
• 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
• 8 hot dogs
• 16 slices bacon
1. Preheat lightly greased grill to 350°F (medium setting).
2. Shape ground beef into 8 thin patties. Form patties around each hot dog and seal edges. Wrap 2 slices bacon around each hot dog. Secure with toothpicks. Place on top rack of grill/warming rack and grill, with grill lid closed, turning frequently, for 20 to 25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 145°F. The bacon will create flare-ups, so don’t leave unattended.
